David Lobell

Co-Founder

David Lobell is a Professor at Stanford University, where he leads a research group devoted to applications of data science for food security. He has led research projects on agriculture in Africa, Asia, Latin America, North America, and Australia, and has held advisory roles for many leading agricultural organizations. He has been recognized with a Macarthur Fellowship in 2013, a McMaster Fellowship from CSIRO in 2014, the Macelwane Medal from the American Geophysical Union in 2010, and a lead author role in the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report. David received a PhD in Geological and Environmental Sciences from Stanford in 2005, and a Sc.B. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University in 2000.
