Marshall is an Associate Professor of Earth System Science at Stanford University and Deputy Director of the Center on Food Security and the Environment. He is also a faculty fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Marshall has a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from UC Berkeley and publishes frequently in top scientific and economics journals, including recent publications in Science, Nature, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics.
